When traveling abroad, it’s always a good idea to have
a little cash before you go, especially if you are not familiar
with the currency and you need to educate yourself.
The issue of whether you should buy currency before you go,
use travelers checks (in US or local currency), use ATM machines,
or pay most everything with credit cards is often debated
at length. Most travelers do a little of each because the
exchange rates in place at the time of your travel may determine
what is best for your situation.
If you wish to get some local currency before you leave, please
